The bank is principally engaged in the business of commercial and residential real estate mortgage lending, funded by a mix of retail and commercial deposits, wholesale deposits and borrowings. Its primary deposit products are savings, checking, and term certificate accounts, and its primary lending products are residential and commercial mortgage loans secured by properties in eastern Massachusetts. The bank also lends to commercial and residential real estate borrowers and services deposits for customers in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (WMA) and in the San Francisco Bay Area.
