“We delivered record EPS this quarter with net income of $36.4 million, supported by margin expansion, robust loan growth, increased capital markets revenue, solid wealth management revenue, and further improvement in asset quality to the strongest level in several years,” said Todd Gipple, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Together, our results underscore the strength of our diversified business model, continued momentum in both low-income housing tax credit (“LIHTC”) and traditional lending, and disciplined execution across our franchise.”
Robust Loan Growth
In the third quarter of 2026, total loans increased $167.0 million, or 9% annualized from the second quarter. Loan growth was $189.7 million or 11% annualized when excluding the planned m2 portfolio runoff. Total loans were $7.2 billion on September 30, 2026, consistent with September 30, 2025 as the Company sold or securitized $730.0 million of LIHTC loans and an additional $105.6 million of m2 loans were runoff and not replaced.
“Over the past 12 months, we have strategically sold and securitized loans to recycle capital, support additional LIHTC originations, and generate attractive fee income without requiring corresponding balance sheet growth. By recycling this capital into new originations, we generated $67.5 million of capital markets revenue while increasing net interest income by $24.3 million or 10% compared to the preceding 12-month period. This demonstrates our ability to grow both net interest income and capital markets revenue while operating with a smaller balance sheet and deploying capital more efficiently,” said Mr. Gipple.
“With solid loan production trends and a strong pipeline heading into year-end, we are reaffirming our gross loan growth guidance of 10% to 15% annualized for the fourth quarter of 2026,” added Mr. Gipple.
Net Interest Income Growth Supported by Margin Expansion
Net interest income for the third quarter of 2026 was $68.7 million, an increase of $0.8 million, or 5% annualized, from the second quarter of 2026. NIM was 3.12% and NIM TEY1 was 3.58% for the third quarter, as compared to 3.10% and 3.55%, respectively, for the prior quarter. The linked-quarter increase in net interest income was driven by margin expansion supported by disciplined funding costs and higher average noninterest-bearing deposits. Average earning assets declined $44.5 million, reflecting strategic LIHTC loan offtakes in the second quarter with strong third quarter loan and investment growth partially offsetting the reduction.
“Our NIM TEY1 expanded 3 basis points from the second quarter of 2026, exceeding our guidance and driving solid net interest income growth. We expect the Federal Reserve’s September rate increase to be slightly accretive to NIM in the near-term, as variable-rate assets and new loan and investment growth reprice faster than deposits. The resulting benefit will hinge on our deposit repricing, customer behavior, and the shape of the yield curve. We remain focused on maintaining deposit pricing discipline and managing funding costs carefully,” said Nick Anderson, Chief Financial Officer.
“Looking ahead, we will continue to balance disciplined deposit pricing with the need to retai

“We delivered strong net income and record GAAP EPS for the second quarter, demonstrating the ongoing momentum across our franchise. Adjusted EPS1 also remained near record levels, exceeded only by the fourth quarter of 2025. These results were supported by substantial loan production, a rebound in capital markets revenue, higher net interest income despite significant LIHTC loan sales, and strong contributions from our wealth management business. Noninterest expenses also outperformed our guidance. Together, these results produced meaningful operating leverage and demonstrated the strength of our diversified business model,” said Todd Gipple, President and Chief Executive Officer.
“We also made important progress on several strategic priorities during the quarter, improving asset quality to the strongest levels in nearly seven years, completing our second core conversion, executing LIHTC offtake transactions that advanced our asset and capital-light strategy, and returning $13.5 million to shareholders through opportunistic share repurchases,” said Mr. Gipple.
Robust Loan Growth
In the second quarter of 2026, total loans grew $216.9 million, or 12% annualized, excluding LIHTC loan offtake transactions and the planned runoff of the m2 portfolio. The Company executed $443.6 million of LIHTC loan offtake transactions during the quarter, consisting of a Freddie Mac permanent loan securitization and a construction loan portfolio sale.
“We delivered strong loan growth fueled by solid production across both our LIHTC and traditional lending businesses, in line with our guidance. Our 7% annualized traditional loan growth, excluding the planned m2 portfolio runoff, reflects robust local client demand and continued strength across our markets,” said Mr. Gipple.
“With very strong pipelines and a healthy outlook for future originations, we expect increased lending activity to fully offset the near-term impact of LIHTC offtake transactions on net interest income. Over time, these transactions will allow us to expand our capital markets revenue opportunities. Accordingly, we are reaffirming our gross loan growth guidance of 10% to 15% annualized for the final two quarters of 2026,” said Mr. Gipple.
Significant Capital Markets and Wealth Management Revenue Growth
Noninterest income for the second quarter of 2026 was $29.4 million, up from $23.0 million in the first quarter of 2026. The Company generated $16.7 million of capital markets revenue from LIHTC loan production in the second quarter of 2026, representing a linked-quarter increase of 56% and a year-over-year increase of 69%. Capital markets revenue growth was partially offset by a $1.3 million loss from the Freddie Mac LIHTC securitization. Wealth management revenue totaled $5.8 million for the quarter, representing a 7% increase from the first quarter of 2026, reflecting strong market performance and continued new relationship and AUM gro

“We are very pleased to have delivered record first quarter net income, representing 1.40% ROAA and 31% EPS growth compared to a year ago, in what is historically a softer quarter for capital markets revenue. Our strong first quarter results were highlighted by healthy loan and deposit growth, significantly lower noninterest expense, and modest margin expansion. These results underscore the continued progress we are making in strengthening profitability across our traditional banking and wealth management businesses. We also maintained excellent asset quality and generated meaningful growth in tangible book value per share while returning nearly $21 million to shareholders through opportunistic share repurchases. Additionally, we continued investing in our digital transformation as we build a more modern, scalable bank for our clients and employees,” said Todd Gipple, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Continued Strong Loan Growth
In the first quarter of 2026, total loans grew $145.3 million, or 8% annualized, excluding the planned runoff of the m2 portfolio. The Company identified $522.9 million of low-income housing tax credit (“LIHTC”) loans planned for the next permanent loan securitization and construction loan sale. Following the successful completion of the Company’s first sale of LIHTC construction loans to a private investor during the fourth quarter of 2025, the Company expects to close on its second LIHTC construction loan sale of approximately $207.3 million in funded balances to a new private investor during the second quarter of 2026. The Company also expects to close on its next Freddie Mac LIHTC tax-exempt permanent loan securitization of $315.6 million during the second quarter of 2026.
“Our first quarter loan growth was driven by both our LIHTC and traditional lending businesses and was within our guidance range. The upcoming offtake of LIHTC loans will allow us to expand LIHTC lending opportunities and drive incremental capital markets revenue. Our pipelines are strong, and we anticipate increased traditional and LIHTC lending in the coming quarters that will mitigate the expected short-term net interest income dilution from these transactions,” said Mr. Gipple. “Accordingly, we are reaffirming our gross loan growth guidance of 10% to 15% annualized for the final three quarters of 2026.”
Core Deposit Growth Accelerates
Total core deposits increased by $409.1 million, or 23% annualized, from the fourth quarter of 2025. The deposit mix remained stable while total brokered deposits declined by $52.4 million in the first quarter. The Company’s total deposits at the end of the first quarter were $7.8 billion, an increase of $356.7 million, or 19% annualized, contributing to a decrease in the gross loans/leases held for investment to total deposits ratio to 87%.
“We remain focused on growing core deposits and improving our deposit mix across our markets,” added Mr. Gipple. “During the quarter, noninte
