Newell Brands Announces Third Quarter 2026 Results
Top-Line Growth Accelerates Sequentially, Delivering Second Consecutive Quarter of Sales Growth
Raises Full-Year Sales Outlook
ATLANTA, GA – October 30, 2026 – Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) today announced its third quarter 2026 financial results.
Chris Peterson, Newell Brands President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "Top-line growth accelerated sequentially as Newell Brands delivered its second consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth in sales. Growth during the quarter was broad-based, with both the U.S. and International delivering growth along with four of our six businesses and seven of our top 10 brands. Our investment in consumer understanding, brand building, innovation, and marketing continues to expand distribution and drive growth. Based on these solid results and the dramatic improvements we have made across the key capabilities required to win in our industry, we are raising our full year sales outlook and now expect to deliver positive sales growth in both the fourth quarter and full year 2026."
Mark Erceg, Newell Brands Chief Financial Officer, said, "Stronger sales and world-class productivity efforts allowed third quarter normalized gross and operating margins to expand significantly versus last year and normalized earnings per share to come in at the high end of our guidance range despite inflation that exceeded our expectations. Higher projected sales than previously anticipated and additional cost containment efforts give us the confidence to maintain the midpoints of our normalized operating margin and normalized earnings per share outlooks. Deleveraging remains a top priority and, consistent with that, we anticipate reducing total debt and factoring by a couple hundred million dollars this year."

Newell Brands Announces Second Quarter 2026 Results
Returns to Sales Growth for the First Time in Over Four Years
Results Exceed Expectations Across All Key Metrics
Raises Full Year Outlook
ATLANTA, GA – July 31, 2026 – Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) today announced its second quarter 2026 financial results.
Chris Peterson, Newell Brands President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "Newell Brands returned to year-over-year growth in both net sales and core sales in the second quarter, marking an important milestone in our turnaround. The improvement was broad-based across the portfolio and reflects stronger innovation, higher levels of advertising and promotional support and vastly improved go-to-market capabilities we have built over the past several years. These investments have strengthened the capabilities required to win in our industry and established a solid foundation upon which, we believe, profitable growth can be achieved and sustained in the years ahead."
Mark Erceg, Newell Brands Chief Financial Officer, said, "Second quarter results were above our expectations across all key financial metrics as stronger sales, gross productivity and disciplined overhead management more than offset higher-than-anticipated commodity and transportation costs. Based on our second quarter performance, including the IEEPA tariff refund P&L benefit we recorded during the quarter and the cash refund we expect to receive during the second half of the year, and improving top line trends we are raising our full-year outlook for net and core sales growth, normalized operating margin, normalized earnings per share and operating cash flow."

Newell Brands Announces First Quarter 2026 Results
Results Ahead of Expectations Across Key Metrics
Raises Full Year Outlook
ATLANTA, GA – May 1, 2026 – Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) today announced its first quarter 2026 financial results.
Chris Peterson, Newell Brands President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "First quarter results came in ahead of plan across all key metrics with all three segments delivering core sales above our expectations. Higher than expected consumer demand for our products, as evidenced by improving point of sale and share trends, was driven by continued investment in innovation, advertising and promotional support. We also experienced better than expected underlying category dynamics despite the continued existence of a challenging macroeconomic backdrop. We continue to believe that our strategy is working and, importantly, we now expect to return to top-line growth in the second quarter."
Mark Erceg, Newell Brands Chief Financial Officer, said, "First quarter operating margin expanded year-over-year as productivity and pricing actions more than offset cost inflation and lower volume while improved operating performance, disciplined cost management and a lower effective tax rate drove normalized earnings per share in excess of our going-in expectations. Based on our first quarter over-delivery and projected sales growth over the balance of the year, we are comfortable raising our full year estimates for net sales, core sales and earnings per share."

Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition. On October 25, 2024 Newell Brands Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release, including additional financial information, to report the Company’s earnings for the quarter ended September 30, 2024, which is attached to this report as Exhibit 99.1. Also attached to this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.2 is a reconciliation of certain financial measures that are not in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States of America (“GAAP”) for certain prior periods. In addition to its GAAP results, the Company has provided and will continue to provide certain non-GAAP financial measures, referred to as “normalized” measures, which provide investors supplementary information helpful in understanding the Company’s underlying operating performance. Commencing in the third quarter of 2024, the Company changed its normalization practice. Historically, the Company has excluded from normalized results inventory write-downs and accelerated depreciation charges relating to restructuring and exit activities that were reflected within its restructuring-related costs non-GAAP adjustment. Beginning in the third quarter 2024, the Company no longer excludes these charges from its normalized results. The Company also ceased to exclude from normalized results prior period adjustments related to a bad debt reserve and subsequent recovery related to the bankruptcy of an international customer. The reconciliations in Exhibit 99.2 reflect these changes. The information in this report shall not be deemed “filed” for purposes of Section 18 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 or otherwise subject to the liabilities of that section, nor shall it be deemed incorporated by reference in any filing under the Securities Act of 1933, regardless of any general incorporation language in such filing.

Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
Operating Segment Change
In connection with its previously disclosed restructuring and savings initiative, Project Phoenix, Newell Brands Inc. (the “Company”) consolidated the operating results of its Commercial Solutions, Home Appliances and Home Solutions segments into one operating segment, Home & Commercial Solutions. Learning & Development and Outdoor & Recreation remain as the Company’s other two operating segments. Reporting under this new operating segment structure commenced effective January 1, 2023.
Change in Accounting Method
During the fourth quarter of 2022, the Company elected to change its method of accounting for certain inventory in the U.S. from the last-in, first-out (“LIFO”) method to the first-in, first-out (“FIFO”) method. The change to FIFO is preferable because it conforms the Company's entire inventory to a single method of accounting and improves comparability with the Company's peers.
Revision of Previously Issued Financial Statements
During the fourth quarter of 2022, the Company identified that it changed the designation to a new functional currency incorrectly for one of its legal entities at the beginning of 2022. Consequently, the Company should have recorded mark to market adjustments for certain account balances in Other (income) expense, net in the Condensed Consolidated Statement of Operations. The impact of this change resulted in additional expense of $6 million, $13 million and $16 million for the three months ended March 31, 2022, June 30, 2022 and September 30, 2022, respectively. The Company concluded the above referenced effects were not material to its previously issued Condensed Consolidated Statements of Operations for the three months ended March 31, 2022, June 30, 2022 and September 30, 2022, respectively, and the Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets at March 31, 2022, June 30, 2022 and September 30, 2022, respectively, included in the Company’s Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q filed with the SEC on April 29, 2022, July 29, 2022 and October 28, 2022. The adjustments did not result in a change to net cash provided by operating activities in the Company’s Condensed Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows for the three, six and nine months ended March 31, 2022, June 30, 2022 and September 30, 2022, respectively. During the fourth quarter of 2022, the Company recorded mark to market income of $20 million for this item in Other (income) expense, net in the Condensed Consolidated Statement of Operations.
Supplementary Financial Information
The Company has prepared supplementary financial information attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1, to provide investors comparative financial results for each of the three operating segments in prior periods. The Company has recasted its Sales, Operating Income (Loss) and Adjusted Operating Income (Loss) by operating segment f
