•Total net sales of $29.8 million, including $24.2 million from Tru Niagen®. Direct to consumer sales on the Company’s website grew by 23% year-over-year.

•Gross margin of 64.8%, reflecting continued strength in business mix.

•Introduced NB4168, a proprietary lead investigational therapeutic candidate for treatment of rare genetic diseases and aging related disorders, initially targeting Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T). NB4168 is an oral small molecule engineered to deliver substantially greater nicotinamide riboside (NR) exposure than conventional NR while maintaining a differentiated pharmacokinetic and safety profile.

•NB4168 received the Rare Pediatric Disease (RPD) designation for the treatment of A-T from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Orphan Medicinal Product Designation (OMPD) from the European Medicines Agency (EMA), supporting the Company's plans to advance the program globally.

•Engaged Evotec as its contract research organization for the preclinical and IND enabling studies for NB4168, anticipated to begin in Q3 2026.

“During the quarter, Tru Niagen continued to demonstrate its category leadership, and at the same time, we laid the foundation strategically for what we expect will unlock tremendous value for years to come. The launch of our telehealth business and pharmaceutical program are long-term growth drivers that have evolved Niagen from a nutritional supplement business to a multi-asset anti-aging company,” said Rob Fried, Chief Executive Officer. “Our underlying consumer products business is the engine funding the rest of our value accretive initiatives and we are focused on investing across our multiple strategic growth opportunities, while maintaining cash flow of the business.”

2026 Outlook and Strategic Priorities:

For the full year 2026, the Company expects the e-commerce business to grow 10% to 15% year-over-year. We continue to expect the remainder of our consumer business to perform in line with our prior expectations. The ingredient business is expected to be lower than the prior year as some of our commercial partners continue to face a more competitive market, although we expect to add additional ingredient partners in the near term. We expect Niagen Plus growth and new skincare partnerships to become meaningful contributors beginning in 2027.

The Company believes 2026 is an important year of strategic investment and expects operating expenses to increase as it invests across commercial, research and administrative functions to support these strategic priorities, while continuing to focus on disciplined capital allocation and positive cash flow from operations.

•In June 2024, ChromaDex announced U.S. FDA Orphan Drug Designation and Rare Pediatric Disease Designation for nicotinamide riboside chloride, ChromaDex’s product candidate for the treatment of Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT). AT is a rare, progressive disease that typically presents in early childhood and affects the function of the nervous system, the immune system, and several other body systems. Plans are underway to file an Investigational New Drug application with the U.S. FDA in anticipation of conducting human clinical trials. If the application is approved, ChromaDex will pursue grant funding or other non-dilutive financing for the human clinical trials.

•In June 2024, ChromaDex unveiled Niagen+, a product line featuring pharmaceutical-grade Niagen® (patented nicotinamide riboside chloride or NRC). U.S. FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facilities will compound and distribute pharmaceutical-grade Niagen®, which will be available in intravenous (IV) and injectable forms exclusively at clinics with prescription. Beginning this month, Niagen IV and injections will debut at select IV clinics. Clinical study results(1) support Niagen IV offering a 75% shorter infusion time, a higher and faster rise in NAD+ blood levels three hours post-infusion, based on dried blood spot analysis, and is well-tolerated as compared to the common alternative, NAD+ IV.

•In July 2024, ChromaDex launched Niagen+ NAD+ Test Kits, available exclusively to healthcare practitioners. The Niagen+ NAD+ Test Kits provide a reliable method for measuring patient blood NAD+ levels, enabling practitioners to create more personalized and effective protocols using ChromaDex’s NAD+-boosting products, Tru Niagen® and Niagen+.

“We delivered solid financial results in the second quarter, with $22.7 million in revenue and lower operating expenses resulting in virtually breakeven net loss and operating cash flows, as well as positive Adjusted EBITDA of $1.6 million,” said ChromaDex Chief Executive Officer, Rob Fried. “Moreover, we are thrilled to finally unveil our new product line, Niagen+, for healthcare practitioners and clinics. This launch marks a significant milestone for ChromaDex, as we believe we are the first company to offer NR in both oral and intravenous forms, reinforcing our position as the global authority in the NAD+ market.”

Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, improved to $1.6 million from $0.2 million in the second quarter of 2023. Results of operations for the three months ended September 30, 2023 compared to the prior year quarter

ChromaDex reported a net sales increase of 14%, or $2.4 million, to $19.5 million. The increase in total net sales was driven by growth in Tru Niagen® sales, partially offset by lower Niagen® ingredient sales.

LOS ANGELES, CA - August 9, 2023 - ChromaDex Corp. (NASDAQ:CDXC) today announced financial results for the second quarter of 2023.

Second Quarter 2023 and Recent Highlights

•Total net sales were $20.3 million, with $16.9 million from Tru Niagen®, up 21% and 16% from the prior year quarter, respectively.

•Strong gross margin of 60.8% and a $1.8 million reduction in operating expenses.

•Sales and marketing expense as a percentage of net sales was 29.6%, an improvement of 1,830 basis points, compared to 47.9% from the prior year quarter.

•Net loss was $2.2 million or $(0.03) per share, an improvement of $4.2 million, or $0.06 per share, from the prior year quarter.

•Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, was a positive $0.2 million, a $4.9 million improvement from the prior year quarter.

•Two published abstracts, originally presented in April 2023, highlighted the significance of NAD+ in glaucoma patients and that supplementation with nicotinamide riboside, NR, shows promising effects.(1)

•ChromaDex External Research Program (CERP™) celebrated its 10th anniversary, signing more than 275 global research agreements with over 235 independent, expert investigators to uncover the full potential of NAD+ with Niagen®. This research has shown that the health benefits of Niagen® translate from preclinical models to human clinical studies for brain, heart and muscle health with remarkable consistency. Looking to the next 10 years, there is great anticipation for emerging benefits in sensory, infant, maternal and reproductive health to be translated from preclinical to human studies.

“This was another excellent quarter, delivering 21% year-over-year revenue growth, positive Adjusted EBITDA of $0.2 million and positive operating cash flows for the second consecutive quarter,” said ChromaDex Chief Executive Officer, Rob Fried. “We are again raising our 2023 revenue outlook by 2.5% to at least 15% growth, underscoring our commitment to consistent profitable growth.”

(1) Refers to two independent clinical study abstracts originally presented in April 2023 at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) annual meeting and recently published in the peer-reviewed ARVO journal, Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science.

Results of operations for the three months ended June 30, 2023 compared to the prior year quarter

ChromaDex reported a net sales increase of 21%, or $3.6 million, to $20.3 million. The increase in net sales was fueled by growth in sales of Tru Niagen® and growth in Niagen® ingredient sales.

Gross margin percentage improved 80 basis points to 60.8%. The improvement in gross margin percentage is primarily driven by economies of scale and supply chain management optimization efforts, partly offset by changes in business mix.

Operating expense decreased 11%, or $1.8 million, to $14.7 million driven by a $2.0 million reduction in sales and marketing expense slightly offset by higher research and development expense and general and administrative expense.

Net loss was $2.2 million, or $0.03 loss per share, compared to a net loss of $6.4 million or $0.09 loss per share for the second quarter of 2022. Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, was a positive $0.2 million, a $4.9 million improvement from Q2 2022. See “Reconciliation of Non-GAAP Financial Measures” for a reconciliation of non-GAAP Adjusted EBITDA to net loss, the most directly comparable GAAP measure.

Net cash inflow from operating activities was $6.1 million for the six months ended June 30, 2023, showing a significant improvement compared to a net cash outflow of $11.0 million in the prior year. This improvement can be attributed to a $10.0 million reduction in net loss, a positive impact of $4.9 million from inventory management, as well as other favorable changes in working capital.

2023 Full Year Outlook

Looking forward, for the full year, the Company expects at least 15.0% revenue growth year-over-year. The projected growth considers only recurring, steady revenue growth from the e-commerce business and established partnerships, as well as upside from newer partnerships realized in the first half of the year. However, potential upside which is not reflected in this growth, lies within new partnerships, channels, and products. The Company projects that gross margin will remain stable year over year as cost savings initiatives and benefits from economies of scale are expected to largely offset continued inflationary pressures. Moreover, further optimization, coupled with new and focused customer acquisition strategies are expected to result in reduced

•Total net sales were $22.6 million, up 31% from the prior year quarter, with $17.6 million from Tru Niagen®.

•Strong gross margin of 59.9% and a $2.8 million reduction in operating expenses, reflecting financial discipline.

•Selling and marketing expense as a percentage of net sales was 34.9% versus 47.7%, an improvement of 1,280 basis points from the prior year quarter, while investing in a strategic brand building event.

“In the first quarter of fiscal 2023, we achieved $22.6 million in revenue and generated $2.8 million in positive operating cash flows,” said ChromaDex Chief Executive Officer, Rob Fried. “We raised the conservative end of our 2023 revenue outlook to 12.5% growth and, importantly, are seeing significant opportunities for future growth that are not reflected in this outlook."

Results of operations for the three months ended March 31, 2023 compared to the prior year quarter

ChromaDex reported a net sales increase of 31%, or $5.3 million, to $22.6 million. The increase in net sales was largely driven by growth in sales of Tru Niagen® and growth in Niagen® ingredient sales.

Gross margin percentage declined 110 basis points to 59.9%. The decline in gross margin percentage is largely attributable to a shift in business mix as well as modest cost inflation, partially offset by overall scale.

Operating expense decreased 15%, or $2.8 million, to $15.5 million driven by a $2.5 million reduction in general and administrative expense due to lower legal fees, share-based compensation and severance and restructuring costs.

Net loss was $1.9 million, or $0.03 loss per share, compared to a net loss of $7.7 million or $0.11 loss per share for the first quarter of 2022. Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, approached break-even with a loss of only $0.1 million, a $4.4 million improvement from Q1 2022. See “Reconciliation of Non-GAAP Financial Measures” for a reconciliation of non-GAAP Adjusted EBITDA to net loss, the most directly comparable GAAP measure.

Net cash inflow from operating activities was $2.8 million compared to a cash outflow of $7.2 million in the prior year quarter, largely due to improvements in net loss of $5.8 million paired with changes in working capital.

2023 Full Year Outlook

Looking forward, for the full year, the Company expects at least 12.5% revenue growth year-over-year. The conservative end of the Company’s outlook reflects prevailing macroeconomic uncertainty and only considers recurring, steady revenue growth from the e-commerce business and established partnerships, as well as upside from new partnerships realized in the first quarter. However, potential upside lies within new partnerships, channels, and products. The Company projects that gross margin will remain stable year over year as cost savings initiatives are expected to largely offset continued inflationary pressures. Moreover, further optimization, coupled with new and focused customer acquisition strategies are expected to result in reduced selling and marketing expense as a percentage of net sales. The Company plans to increase investments in research and development to drive innovation and expects a reduction in general and administrative expense of $1 to $2 million year over year.

Results of operations for the three months ended September 30, 2022 compared to the prior year quarter

For the three months ended September 30, 2022 (“Q3 2022”), ChromaDex reported net sales of $17.1 million, a decrease of $0.2 million or (1)% compared to the third quarter of 2021 (“Q3 2021”). The slight decline in Q3 2022 revenues compared to Q3 2021 was primarily attributable to lower business-to-business sales of Tru Niagen® as distributor partners continue to experience COVID-19 headwinds and other macroeconomic factors paired with lower demand for research and development services. Declines in net sales were partially offset by steady growth in e-commerce sales of Tru Niagen®.

Gross margin percentage declined to 59.8% in Q3 2022 compared to 61.1% in Q3 2021 primarily due to increases in supply chain headcount, including higher wages, and other inflationary pressures, partially offset by business mix.

Operating expense decreased $6.1 million to $13.3 million in Q3 2022, compared to $19.4 million in Q3 2021. The decline in operating expense was largely attributable to a $5.0 million decrease in general and administrative expense paired with a $1.4 million decrease in selling and marketing expense. During Q3 2022, selling and marketing expense was scaled back to focus on the most efficient channels and investments, which drove a 730 basis point improvement in selling and marketing expense as a percentage of net sales, compared to Q3 2021. The decline in general and administrative expense was primarily driven by a $4.4 million decrease in legal expense.

The net loss for Q3 2022 was $1.0 million or $(0.01) per share compared to a net loss of $8.8 million or $(0.13) per share for Q3 2021. Adjusted EBITDA including legal expense, a non-GAAP measure, was a loss of $1.2 million for Q3 2022, a $5.1 million improvement from Q3 2021. Adjusted EBITDA excluding legal expense, a non-GAAP measure, was a profit of $0.1 million for Q3 2022. See “Reconciliation of Non-GAAP Financial Measures” for a

LOS ANGELES, CA - May 12, 2022 - ChromaDex Corp. (NASDAQ:CDXC) today announced financial results for the first quarter of 2022.

First Quarter 2022 and Recent Highlights

•Tru Niagen® net sales were $14.9 million, a 20% increase from the prior year quarter.

•In April 2022, the ChromaDex External Research Program (CERP) achieved its 250th material transfer agreement since 2013, resulting in over 100 peer-reviewed preclinical and clinical studies, many including the study of Niagen® and its impact on healthy aging.

•Clinical study published in Cell Metabolism revealed NR as a potential neuroprotective therapy for Parkinson’s Disease (PD) patients, warranting further investigation in additional trials. Two additional studies are underway, including a 400 patient study at 1,000 milligrams per day, and a 20 patient study at 3,000 milligrams per day.

•Launched new consumer product, Tru Niagen® Immune, a first-of-its kind combination of immune-boosting nutrition with ChromaDex’s proprietary NAD+ boosting ingredient Niagen®, beginning April 2022.

•Granted additional U.S. continuation patent to protect the novel manufacturing process of NR and its various salt forms, which now cover NR Chloride, NR Malate, and NR Tartrate salts, through 2037.

“We delivered solid financial results in the first quarter, while strengthening our patent portfolio, and announcing dramatic new scientific research on Niagen(R),” said CEO, Rob Fried. “Following the quarter, we launched Tru Niagen(R) Immune and ramped up our new TV campaign to encouraging early results.”

Results of operations for the three months ended March 31, 2022 compared to the prior year quarter

For the three months ended March 31, 2022 (“Q1 2022”), ChromaDex reported net sales of $17.3 million, up $2.6 million or 18% compared to the first quarter of 2021 (“Q1 2021”). The increase in Q1 2022 revenues was largely driven by growth in sales of Tru Niagen® (primarily e-commerce) paired with slight growth in ingredient sales.

Gross margin percentage declined to 61.0% in Q1 2022 compared to 62.9% in Q1 2021 primarily due to business mix and increases in supply chain headcount to scale the business.

Operating expenses increased by $1.7 million to $18.3 million in Q1 2022, compared to $16.6 million in Q1 2021. The increase in operating expenses was driven by $2.0 million of higher selling and marketing expenses partially offset by a $0.6 million decrease in general and administrative expense. The increase in selling and marketing expenses are largely due to brand building activities, including new Tru Niagen® television campaign.

The net loss for Q1 2022 was $7.7 million or $(0.11) per share compared to a net loss of $7.4 million or $(0.12) per share for Q1 2021. Adjusted EBITDA including legal expense, a non-GAAP measure, delivered a loss of $4.5 million for Q1 2022, a $1.2 million improvement from Q1 2021. Adjusted EBITDA excluding legal expense, a non-GAAP measure, was a loss of $2.1 million for Q1 2022. See “Reconciliation of Non-GAAP Financial Measures” for a reconciliation of non-GAAP Adjusted EBITDA excluding legal expense to net loss, the most directly comparable GAAP measure.

For Q1 2022, the net cash outflow from operating activities was $7.2 million, compared to $5.4 million in Q1 2021 largely due to changes in working capital.

2022 Full Year Outlook

Looking forward, for the full year, the Company expects 15-20% revenue growth, driven by its global e-commerce business, as well as growth with existing and new strategic partners. The outlook does not include revenue upside from potential new partnerships in the pipeline. The outlook contemplates continued COVID-19 headwinds for international partners. The Company expects slightly better than 60% gross margin and a reduction in general and administrative expense of $5.0 to $6.0 million, as reported, for full year 2022, driven by lower legal expense. The Company expects to increase investments and resources to drive brand awareness and accelerate its research and development pipeline to capitalize on growth in the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) market globally. Accordingly, the Company expects an increase in research and development expense of approximately $2.0 million. Selling and marketing expense is expected to be up in absolute dollars, but down slightly as a percentage of net sales, year-over-year.
