It offers food production audits and uses verification processes to ensure that claims made by food producers and processors are accurate. The company supports farmers, ranchers, vineyards, wineries, processors, retailers, distributors, trade associations, and restaurants with a wide variety of value-added services provided through its family of verifiers, including International Certification Services, Validus Verification Services, and others. The company operates in two segments that are verification and certification and Software Sales and Related Consulting. It generates the majority of its revenue from verification and certification.
RB Global has evolved into a leading global marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of commercial assets and vehicles. It is the result of the 2023 combination of Ritchie Bros. and IAA. Ritchie Bros.' roots were as an auctioneer facilitating transactions of commercial, construction, and transportation equipment (excavators, bulldozers, forklifts, and commercial trucks and trailers). However, it has evolved into an omnichannel marketplace. IAA has similar roots, though primarily focused on the salvage auction segment for consumer automobiles.
