It creates print, digital, and audiobooks, learning materials and programs, classroom magazines, and other products that support children's learning and reading both at home and at school. The company also owns rights to various books, including Harry Potter, Dog Man, and The Hunger Games among others. It has three reportable segments Children's Book Publishing and Distribution, Education Solutions, and International. Compass Minerals currently produces two primary products: salt and specialty potash fertilizer. The company's main assets include rock salt mines in Ontario, Louisiana, and the United Kingdom. The fertilizer is produced from a brine operation at the Great Salt Lake in Utah that produces sulfate of potash and magnesium chloride.
