The Fund uses leverage to pursue its investment objective. The Fund may invest in a variety of direct debt instruments, including bank loans, notes and other interests in amounts owed to financial institutions by borrowers, such as companies and governments. Corporate loans in which the Fund may invest will consist of direct obligations of borrowers. Nuveen New York Municipal Value Fund Inc. is a diversified closed-end management investment company. The Fund seeks to provide current income exempt from regular federal, New York State, and New York City income taxes, and from the federal alternative minimum tax for individuals, while enhancing portfolio value relative to the municipal bond market by investing in tax-exempt municipal bonds considered underrated, undervalued, or from undervalued municipal market sectors. It may invest in municipal securities such as lease obligations and certificates of participation, which provide an undivided interest in pools of municipal leases or installment purchase agreements.
