MVB Financial Corp is a financial holding company. The company provides a wide range of business activities through the Bank, commercial and retail banking services, as well as Fintech banking. It has three reportable segments: CoRe Banking, Mortgage Banking, and Financial Holding Company. The majority of its revenue is generated from the CoRe Banking segment, which includes its Fintech division, represents banking products and services offered to customers by the Bank, loans and deposits accounts. The Fund seeks to provide current income exempt from regular federal, New York State and New York City income taxes, and from the federal alternative minimum tax for individuals, while enhancing portfolio value relative to the municipal bond market by investing in tax-exempt municipal bonds considered underrated, undervalued, or from undervalued municipal market sectors. It may invest in municipal securities such as lease obligations and certificates of participation, which provide an undivided interest in pools of municipal leases or installment purchase agreements.
