The Bank has continued to focus on increasing its originations of commercial, commercial real estate (CRE), and agricultural loans, which management believes will be more profitable and provide more growth for the Bank than traditional one-to-four-family residential real estate lending. In addition, it also invests in certain investment and mortgage-related securities using deposits and other borrowings as funding sources. Its primary deposit gathering and lending markets are geographically diversified with locations in central, eastern, southeast, and southwest Kansas.
