The firm provides interconnected technologically seamless products and services that help people to pay, shop and manage their finances. Its operating segment includes the Payments Platform that connects its customers, which consist of both consumers and merchants, to facilitate cashless, digital transactions, the Marketplace Platform, which derives maximum revenue, connects merchants and consumers enabling merchants to increase their sales and consumers to buy a broad selection of products and services offered by a variety of merchants, and Fintech Platform that enables customers to manage their personal finances online and access consumer finance and deposit products through the Kaspi.kz Super App.
Millicom offers wireless and fixed-line telecom services primarily in smaller, less developed countries in Latin America. Countries served include Bolivia, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, and Honduras (67% but not controlled or consolidated in the firm's financial statements). The firm's wireless networks cover about 145 million people, serving nearly 60 million customers. Its fixed-line networks reach 22 million homes, serving about 5.6 million broadband customers. Increasingly, Millicom offers converged packages that include broadband with wireless services. The firm also formed a joint venture to acquire Telefónica's operations in Chile.
