The company's portfolio consists of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) that are guaranteed by a U.S. government agency such as the Government National Mortgage Association, or a federally chartered corporation such as the Federal National Mortgage Association or the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation; Commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) that are not guaranteed by a U.S. government agency or a federally chartered corporation; RMBS that are not guaranteed by a U.S. government agency or a federally chartered corporation; and other real estate-related financing arrangements.
Blackrock Core Bond Trust is a closed-ended management investment company. Its objective is to provide current income and capital appreciation. The trust seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing, under normal market conditions, at least 75% of its managed assets in bonds that are investment-grade quality at the time of investment. The trust, under a normal market scenario, will invest in a range of bonds, including corporate bonds, U.S. government and agency securities, and mortgage-related securities.
