Its primary investment objective is to provide total return through a combination of current income, capital gains, and capital appreciation. The company seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing principally in a portfolio of equity securities, and issuers in emerging market countries. The Cancer Vaccines segment involves vaccines to treat and prevent breast and ovarian cancer, as well as additional cancer vaccines targeting intractable cancers, including high-incidence malignancies in lung, colon, and prostate. The CAR-T Therapies segment involves the development of liraltagene autoleucel (lira-cel), an ovarian cancer immunotherapy using chimeric endocrine receptor-T cell technology, developed at its subsidiary, Certainty Therapeutics, Inc. The Other segment consists of legacy operations, including limited patent licensing activities.
