Guggenheim Active Allocation Fund is a diversified closed-end management investment company. The fund's investment objective is to maximize total return through a combination of current income and capital appreciation. The company invests in both fixed-income and other debt instruments selected from a variety of sectors and credit qualities, and may also invest in equities. It uses tactical asset allocation models to determine the optimal allocation of its assets between fixed-income and equity securities. A majority of its investments are made in corporate bonds and the rest in senior floating rate interests, asset-backed securities, preferred stocks, and other securities.

These funds are used for the origination of loans, including one-to-four-family first mortgage loans, home equity loans, and lines, commercial real estate loans, construction and land loans, multi-family residential loans, commercial and industrial loans, and consumer loans. Its primary expenses are interest expense on deposits and borrowings and general operating expenses.
